Abortion is the medical termination of a pregnancy resulting in the murder of an unborn child. There are different methods of abortion including:
- Aspiration: A commonly used gynecological procedure, is the most common form of procedural abortion. It can be used to conduct abortions up to 14-16 weeks of gestation.
- Dilation and evacuation abortions (D&E): Are usually performed after the 14th week of pregnancy. The cervix is dilated, and the pregnancy tissue is evacuated using forceps or suction.
- Induction abortions: Are conducted later in pregnancy. They involve the use of medications to induce labor and delivery of the fetus.

- More than 60 million legal abortions have occurred in the United States since 1973.
- 1 in 4 pregnancies end in an abortion every year.
- Based on available state-level data, approximately 977,000 abortions took place in the United States in 2021.
- In 2020, the highest percentage of pregnancies were aborted in the District of Columbia(52%), New York (35%), and New Jersey (34%). The lowest percentage of pregnancies were aborted in Wyoming (2%), South Dakota (1%), and Missouri (0.2%).
- Women in their twenties account for more than half of all abortions (57.2%).
- 40% of minors having an abortion report that neither of their parents knew about the abortion.
- Medication abortion pills, which account for the majority of abortions, are administered at 9 weeks’ gestation or less. Medication abortion pills can be provided in a clinical setting or via telehealth.
- It was estimated that in 2020, medication was used for more than half (53%) of all abortions.

- Pray that our culture would embrace, love and support women who have an unexpected pregnancy and choose to deliver their babies.
- Pray that God would provide financial and human resources to support Pregnancy Resource Centers.
- Pray that God would raise up political leaders that have the courage to fight for life.
- Pray that the citizens in our country would be moved with compassion for the lives of unborn babies and that they would fight against abortion.
- Pray that those who work in the abortion industry would be convicted of their actions and courageously leave the industry.
