Drug overdose is the leading cause of death in America in individuals under the age of 45. The number of individuals dying of drug and substance abuse has been steadily rising over the last several years while access to illegal drugs in our communities has also been increasing. We have also seen the legalization of marijuana in twenty-three states – along with Washington, D.C. and Guam.

- 20.4% of Americans over the age of 12 have an alcohol use disorder.
- Drug use is highest among persons between the ages of 18-25 at 39% compared to persons aged 26-29, at 34%.

- Pray that God will lead individuals dealing with substance abuse problems and addictions to seek help.
- Pray that God will free individuals from drug and substance abuse addictions.
- Pray that our youth will turn to God for purpose and meaning in their life and turn away from addictive substances.
- Pray that those dealing with emotional and physical pain will find comfort in a relationship with Jesus and not use addictive substances to self-medicate.
- Pray that God will raise of Godly individuals to counsel and care for those dealing with substance abuse addictions.
- Pray that movements to legalize drugs across our country will be unsuccessful.
