“Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matthew 18: 19-20
There is power in prayer! Through prayer we can ask God to come to our aid and to work through the very difficult struggles of the human life. In Psalm 107 verses 28 and 27, it says, “they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed.” God wants us to call upon him in prayer so that he can display His awesome power and so His name will be glorified.
Prayer is also how we speak to God. God wants to be in a relationship with us. He is delighted when we pour our hearts out to him and communicate with him on a consistent basis. Crying out to him throughout the day. The Bible implores us to ask God for the things that we need. In James 4:2 it says, “You do not have, because you do not ask.”
What spiritual burden has God placed upon your heart? Maybe it’s for your child’s school or a college campus. Or maybe you have a burden for specific social issue such as human trafficking or the sanctity of human life. Grab a couple of friends that have a similar spiritual burden and being meeting together on a regular basis to pray. Under the prayer section of this blog, you will find specific ideas on how you can pray for your child’s school, college or important social issues.
As you pray believe that God can and will answer your requests as you pour your heart out to him.
